Los Angeles Flute Quartet
Passionate flute players driven to dynamic performances, excited by new music, and committed to authenticity, the Los Angeles Flute Quartet has established itself as a top-ranking chamber ensemble in southern California. A mix of solo and ensemble players who have appeared with the finest orchestras in the world, the members of the quartet broadcast frequently, and can be heard on soundtracks of numerous award-winning films. They are dedicated to promoting the music of the flute by commissioning new works, educating their audiences, and presenting superior live musical experiences.

CALIFORNIA COMPOSERS SHOWCASE
A commitment to new works by California composers inspired this program featuring LAFQ commissions: A Paul Klee Gallery by Paul Reale (UCLA), Chovihano by film composer Christopher Caliendo, Up in the Air by Jeffry Miller, Bioplasm by Alex Shapiro to name a few. Serenade by Ingolf Dahl, Breath of the Sun by John Thow (Berkley) and In C by Terry Riley complete a delightful diversity of California styles.
Many dedicated and commissioned works are constantly being programmed for future performances.
QUARTETS TILL THE END OF TIME
A program that embraces original and transcribed works for flute quartet, covering several musical styles from LAFQ's own version of Lalo Schifirin's Mission Impossible and Hawaii 5-0, back to the traditional quartets of Kuhlau & Furstenau and transcriptions of string quartets by Mozart, Beethoven, Shostakovich and Turina.
EUROPEAN UNION
A delightful program of beautiful music from 17th-19th century Europe. Features Mozart's 'Eine Kleine Nachtmusik', and Irish Whistle Fantasy and works of Boismortier, Holst, Turina, Gubaidalina, Jongen and Pierne.
REBELS AND REVOLUTIONARIES
Music by the Politically Incorrect! Explore the music and stories of passionate composers that knew no barriers. Gesualdo, Ives, Shostakovich, Beethoven and Mozart.
SACRED BREATH
The sacred voice of the flute transcends time in devotional and meditative sounds. This eclectic program includes Samuel Barber's Adagio and Bach's Art of the Fugue, and presents LAFQ's unique versions of Loreena McKennett's Between the Shadows and Deva Premal's Gayatri Mantra.
EDUCATIONAL CONCERTS FOR KIDS
Take a trip down the Moldau, listen to a little night music, and see the Pink Panther too! Join LAFQ
on a Mission Impossible, for an hour of high energy music. This interactive program covers many styles mixed with a little movie magic to create a fun and educational hour of entertainment.
